Watch2gether:
We will be using the Watch2Gether platform, and the films and videos will start promptly at 19:45, finishing by 21:30. No registration required – all you need do is click on the screening link and it fast tracks you straight to the playlist, adding you as an anonymous user.
Theme: Social Outcasts
The films/videos chosen can all be said to feature protagonists suffering from acute mental conditions, including social anxiety, borderline personality disorder, OCD and Haphephobia.
As with the last watch along, these characters are NOT identified as autistic (the first is from the 1960s), however, their self-destructive, obsessive behaviours and social isolation may resonate with some ‘neuro-atypicals’.
DAVID AND LISA (1962) – 95 mins, feature. Teenager David Clemens develops a hysterical fear that he will die if he comes into physical contact with another person.
