Film Description
David and Lisa tells the story of two young people committed to a residential treatment centre for people with mental conditions and the bond that forms between them.
The character of David is exceptionally rigid with social difficulties and an extreme fear of being touched. Lisa has a dual personality, speaks in rhymes and dissociates from reality.
Despite being from 1962 the film’s largely considered to be sympathetic and ahead of it’s time in it’s portrayal of mental health conditions/Neurodivergent traits. It will certainly be interesting to see how things have changed from 60 years prior!
