Welcome one and all,
The next edition of the London Autism Film Club ‘Watch along’, is coming up on Wednesday, 29 July @8 pm, where we can all get together (virtually, of course) to watch films!🎥😎
The screening link (Watch2gether) for the films (a 19 min short film followed by a 95 min feature) is HERE: https://www.watch2gether.com/rooms/autismsociety-le42q5b13lfjy0j9pv?lang=en
Watch2gether:
We will be using the Watch2gether platform, and the films will start promptly at 8 pm, finishing by 10 pm. At 8:20 there is a 5-minute break between the short and feature film. NO registration required – all you need to do is click on the screening link and it takes you straight there as an anonymous user.
I encourage people to enter the anonymous text chat, but if you do not feel up to it then no worries, just sit back and enjoy! (NO voice/video chat function, text chat ONLY) 😎
Films – Grouped under the theme ‘Autism & Society’:
- The playlist opens with the short SCRAPBOOK (2015), an experimental essay film employing archive footage shot with a secret camera in 1967 from inside an Ohio Developmental centre for neurodiverse children.
- This is followed by the main feature, LE MOINDRE GESTE (1971). Roughly translating into English as The Slightest Gestures, the docu-drama is focused on the work of self-styled ‘anti psychiatrist’ Fernand Deligny, who lived among autistic children and even supported a young adult on the spectrum named Yves, an escapee of a psychiatric institution.
Full run-time for both feature and short is approx. 115 mins.
Thanks again everyone, and I hope to ‘see’ some familiar computer icons in the near future!
Please RSVP to this event page if you attend to join, just so I get a good idea on numbers 😊
