Misfits & Outsiders: GREY GARDENS + Short film
After some brief respite, Citizen Autistic is back and raring to go with a shiny new (online) event, a virtual ‘watch along’ session of much-lauded documentary classic, GREY GARDENS (1975) + Short film on Thursday, 25 November @8 pm!
SO, why not claim your virtual ringside seat for an evening of the finest, hand-picked documentary delicacies, both feature and documentary short! Run time: The entire event run-time is just under 2 hours, both feature and short film combined.
Synopsis – GREY GARDENS: A much lauded mid-1970s observational documentary directed by brothers Albert and David Maysles focussing on the ‘eccentric’, housebound lives of Edith Bouvier Beale (known as ‘Big Edie’) and her daughter Edith Beal (known as ‘Little Edie’) who co-habit a ramshackle, ivy-covered mansion in East Hampton, on the Long Island coast of New York.
Watch2gether: We will be using the Watch2Gether platform, and the feature film and documentary short will start at 20:00, finishing by 22:00. No registration is required – all you do is click on the screening link and it sends you straight there, adding you as an anonymous user.

Documentary short – MAN ON LAYBY 52:
‘Wealth is the ability to fully experience life’ – Henry David Thoreau.
Directed by Edinburgh-based Beth Woodruff and Ruaridh Turner, MAN ON LAYBY 52 is an intimate and sympathetic documentary portrait of Charles Ingram, a man who spent three years voluntarily marooned in his car at an island lay-by on one of Scotland’s busiest thoroughfares.
Many thanks, and I hope to see your friendly anonymous user IDs popping up on my computer screen come Thursday, 25 November!
As with previous online Watch2Gether sessions, do RSVP to this event page if you wish to get a piece of the action s’il vous plait, just so I can keep tabs on numbers.
