Its been a wee while, but Citizen Autistic is back in action with another in-person gathering of strange, land dwelling hominid creatures in darkened rooms…
Next on the agenda is a Relaxed screening programme of short films from hand-picked from the wonderful Oska Bright Film Festival 2022 (Barbican Cinema 3) selection at 18:30 on Monday, 21 March at The Barbican in Central London!
Oska Bright Film Festival – About: For those not already familiar with their great work, Oska Bright is, as its website states, ‘the world’s leading festival for films made by or featuring people with learning disabilities or autism’, with 2022 marking a decade since being founded.
What is showing in this Shorts programme at The Barbican is a curated highlights package essentially of some of the best films to emerge this year. From RUNNING WITH TRAINS, about a young autistic student who combines his two biggest passions – running and trains – to help him through the COVID-19 lockdowns, to THINGS THAT ANNOY ME, which brings to life the daily irritations a woman experiences, it looks like there’s something there to satisfy all tastes.
There is also a further screening in partnership with Oska Bright Festival called Oska Bright Lights later in the month at The BFI Southbank on Tues, 29 March (which I am away for, unfortunately – *boo*).
