After a month’s break for good behaviour, Citizen Autistic is back with another in person cinema screening event, this time a special Halloween outing to see subversive horror-thriller PONTYPOOL (2008) at London’s cinema HQ the BFI Southbank (NFT3), at 18:10 on Monday, 31 October!
PONTYPOOL: – Described by one critic as ‘28 DAYS LATER written by linguist Noam Chomsky’, PONTYPOOL is a low-budget Canadian horror which, like another Independent film made north of Niagara, CUBE, strains the boundaries of the horror genre to offer much in the way of intellectual provocation and questioning.
**BFI Page Synopsis: **
Terror strikes an Ontario town after an aural virus infects its inhabitants, with radio announcer Grant Mazzy (McHattie) the last line of defence against the zombie hordes. McDonald’s terrifying horror offers a new twist on the zombie formula by exploring the nightmarish qualities of language and the dangers of uncontrolled repetition.
