๐ Event: Sunday Social: Breakfast/Brunch at Cafe Verona + Garden Cinema Drinks!
Now that we are in the midst of winterโs icy grip and with Christmas fast approaching, I feel that the time is right for a final wee jolly to enjoy some hot food and drink among fine, carbon-based, protein rich, hominid land dwellers in agreeably warm, temperature controlled indoor spaces!
๐ Schedule: The idea would be to first meet up at a low-key called Cafe Verona for some good old-fashioned, Greasy spoon style hearty breakfast/brunch for approx. one hour (depending on peopleโs preferences/energy levels) before heading onto a nearby cinema called The Garden Cinema (opened March 2022), a four-minute walk away.
The idea would be to enjoy the cosy bar area of the cinema, which has its own series of rather plush booths, and together with the low arousal lighting I am hoping it is quite an autism friendly space!
There may be music playing in the area, and if so I will ask them to keep the volume down low. The bar itself serves a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as hot drinks, i.e. tea/coffee – Menu
๐Time: The Meetup is due to start from 11 am, though please feel free to join at any stage or even directly at the cinema, as this is a relaxed social with no time sensitive film or show e.g. as a part of the agenda.
๐ข Location: We will all initially be meeting at Cafe Verona before heading on to The Garden Cinema nearby – Directions
๐บ๏ธ Address: 184 Drury Lane, London WC2B 5QD โ Cafe Verona
39-41 Parker Street London WC2B 5PQ โ The Garden Cinema
Verona Cafe: The cafe is advertised as vegetarian friendly with vegan options also available. Its prices are supposedly affordable with a full-English around ยฃ8.00, including tea/coffee. The cafe has an average rating of 4.5 on Trip Advisor from 162 reviews at time of looking.
Numbers: Limited sizes to a max of 8 due to possible limitations on space in the cafe and bar areas.
Again, it will be great to see some familiar and not so familiar faces on Sun, 17 and do feel free to bring a friend/facilitator too as +1 though being mindful of numbers!
Live long and prosper,
